Valuation Clinic

Negotiating the current valuation of seed-stage startups at the time of investment is a critical component of angel term sheets.  Getting valuation right establishes a fair percentage of ownership for both investors and entrepreneurs and optimizes returns for investing angels.  This half-day valuation clinic introduces participants to current trends in valuation and demonstrates three valuation methodologies – the Seraf Method, the Scorecard Method and the Venture Capital Method.  The program closes with a 30-minute exercise in which attendees use these valuation methods to appraise a case study company and hone their newly acquired valuation skills.  Ample time is allocated for Q&A.

Course materials are provided with licensing of the program.  Delivery fees for the Valuation Clinic include a $500 fee for ACA members and travel expenses for the lead instructor.  Great value!

Fundamentals of Angel Investing: Valuations – one-hour webinar

Many angels question, what exactly is the right method to arrive at the valuation of a company.  Is it an art, or a science?  Angel investors Theresa Sedlack and Bill Payne will discuss the commonly questioned aspects of valuation, such as, the difference between pre-money and post-money valuations.  Or, how a company's industry, geographic location and other economic factors play into their valuation.  Lastly, investors will learn how to apply in practice the popular industry methodologies for determining valuation.

This webinar is free for ACA members and is available any time, at the angel’s convenience.  It is a great tool to help newer group members to gain confidence, understand angel investing and get started in a smart way!   There is a small charge for non-members.
