Building Angel Group Vitality and Investor Success

The fifth annual ACA Leadership Workshop is an interactive member-only event for those interested in talking about everything from crowdfunding to better exits to growing your angel group (and more). All interested angels from ACA member groups are welcome!

The workshop offers content that is not provided in any other ACA events and of course great networking with your colleagues in an intimate setting. It will include a great library of take-home materials and documents some of you have asked for before.

The event starts with lunch on October 17th at Noon and ends at 3:30 pm on October 18th. The Angel Resource Institute will present two concurrent seminars - "Valuation of Early-Stage Companies" and "Navigating the Boardroom" - 8:00 - 12:00 pm October 17th, and ACA members are welcome to register for those programs as well.

The updated detailed agenda includes content aimed at angel group chairmen, managers, and other active leaders of ACA member groups. Any member of an ACA organization is welcome! Sessions include:

  • Angel Group 2.0 – How Current Early-stage Trends will Shape Angel Groups in the Future
  • Exits from the Buyers Perspective – What They’re Looking for Will Surprise You
  • Rethinking the No-VC Assumption – What Really Shapes Angel Returns?
  • Public Policy - How SEC Rules and the Washington Environment Impact Angels and Startups
  • Best Practices in Screening – What Really Works
  • The Latest from ACA and ARI – What is Happening in Washington, DC?
  • Syndication – What Makes a Deal Right and What Your Group Needs to Do to Make it Happen
  • Compensating Angel Leaders – the Latest Data and What to Take Home
  • Unconference – Moderated Discussions on What is Most Important to the Audience
  • Recruiting and Retaining Great Members
  • Tools, Hacks and Solutions for Running Your Group
  • Networking, Dinners, and Great Views of Boston

  • All attendees will receive a $100 discount for the 2014 ACA Summit (March 26-28 in Washington, DC)
  • We will provide special tools and documents to dig more deeply into the session topics on thumb drives for all attendees

The program will be held in the Seaport area of Boston, just north of Boston’s financial district and close to Logan International Airport. This area is a growing home to some of the most innovative startups in the region. Our meeting hosts are Foley Hoag LLP and Mass Challenge, site of the event beginning at Noon on October 17 through 3:30 pm on October 18.
