2010 ACA Summit Co-Investment Opportunity

The ACA's Collaboration Committee will once again present three exciting investment opportunities from across the US. These companies will be chosen from ACA members who wish to syndicate a portfolio company to other angels and angle groups. Company CEOs will give brief presentations in the session, and be available during the Summit for more in-depth discussions. Summit attendees who are accredited investors with an interest in syndication are welcome to attend.

Please note - Only current ACA member portfolio companies are eligible and nominations must be made through an ACA member group.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Nominations made by ACA member groups will be accepted through March 31st.
  • Selected ACA portfolio companies will be contacted by Friday, April 9th.

COMPANY NOMINATIONS

(You may also download nomination information to share with angels in ACA member groups.)

The 2010 ACA Summit provides for an excellent opportunity for three companies to pitch to more than 100 angel groups with more than 300 individual angels present. At the 2009 ACA Summit, three of the four companies that participated received significant investment as a direct result of the program.

If you are the Deal Lead, please consider nominating a portfolio company from your group for syndication at the ACA Summit during the May 6th session. The decision criteria for the Screening Committee (a subgroup of the ACA Collaboration Committee) include the following:

Requirements

  • The company must be an existing portfolio company of an ACA member group.
  • The company must have subscription room of at least $500,000.
  • The product or service should not have a specific local focus (e.g. mobile ad play for Dallas).

Preferences

  • Companies with pre-money valuations under $5 million will be given preference.
  • We will select companies from three different geographical regions.
  • We plan to select companies at different stages (Seed, A, B, Note).
  • We plan to select companies from three different sectors
  • Companies with high capital requirements (e.g. drug discovery) will not be considered.

Deal Lead Guidelines

  • Will introduce the Company at the 2010 ACA Summit (1 minute) on May 6th.
  • Will facilitate follow up sessions with interested investors during the Summit.
  • Will help the Company schedule any follow up presentations.
  • Will provide updates to the Collaboration Committee at regular intervals post Summit.

The deadline for Company Nominations is 5:00 Eastern on Wednesday, March 31, 2010.

Selections will be announced on Friday, April 9, 2010. Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses, and are invited to participate in the Thursday and Friday sessions at no cost.

There are two components to nominating an ACA member group portfolio company:

Step 1: Fill out the ACA nomination form by completing this form.

AND:

Step 2: Send the requested company documentation to the Angelsoft Group called "ACA Northeast Angels.

For current Angelsoft users, once on your main Angelsoft desktop click on the deal that you would like to refer.
