4:30 - 5:30 ACA Annual Members Meeting

ACA members and affiliates are invited to join ACA's leadership to learn about ACA's status, vote on a slate for board membership, and provide feedback on program options. Special focus areas include public policy, collaboration, and member services.
5:30 - 7:30 Opening Reception and Speed Dating: Meet New Colleagues
Join your colleagues for great conversation. Heavy hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served. Interested attendees may sign up for quick "speed dating" to meet other angels. Otherwise, the only program is informal networking.
After 7:30 Affinity Dinners (at local restaurants)
Jump right into hands-on learning and networking by signing up for a dinner with other angels who share your particular interests. Food costs are on own.

8:00 - 8:45 Keynote: Basil Peters - It's the Angels' Time (for Good Exits)
Back by popular demand, Basil Peters provides his latest thoughts and experience on getting to a quick positive exit, noting that current trends for entrepreneurs and technology are for exits - you can build companies and sell them in two years. Peters says that often the best angel exits come without VCs.
8:45 - 9:45 To Syndicate Not to Syndicate - Angels and VCs Discuss Benefits and Issues in Working Together
Some ACA members have had good experiences co-investing with VCs. Leading VCs and angels talk about their returns and what they learned.

Marianne Hudson and Silicon Valley Bank's Laurie Lumenti Garty cover the latest trends and ACA member surveys. As a bonus, we'll conduct some live surveys using automatic response devices.

Ideas so far: Angelsoft users group, angels add value to rounds/success stories, deals gone wrong, pros and cons of following-on investing, women angels, sidecar funds, when are bridge rounds a good idea, international angels, setting entrepreneur expectations, due diligence, investor-board alignment, pros and cons of angel group structures, public policy, portfolio management/issues) - Final selected topics could carry over into Thursday affinity dinners.

ACA's Collaboration Committee will hold a selection process for entrepreneurs with ACA member lead investors. Accredited investors with an interest in syndication are welcome to attend.

We take a look at alternate ideas such as revenue participation notes, revenue certificates, put-call mechanisms, dividend structures, and convertible notes.
