Two awards will be presented during the ACA Summit. Nominations are now being accepted for:
Hans Severiens Award (honoring individuals who advance angel investing)
The Hans Severiens Award is presented annually to one person to recognize their work in advancing the field of angel investing. Previous winners include angel group founders and academic researchers. Last years winner was Bill Payne, member of four angel groups, expert angel educator and speaker, and mentor to angel investors in many parts of the world. Nominations for the 2010 Award are currently being sought. Consideration for nomination is intentionally broad, from legislators to industry leaders to academia, in recognition of the broad reach and impact of angel investing. We are seeking your nomination of individuals who have impacted angel investing and contributed time and intellect to the advancement and awareness of angel investing. Individuals may be self or third-party nominated.
Luis Villalobos Award (honoring innovation by entrepreneurs funded by ACA members)
The Luis Villalobos Award is launching in 2010 to recognize the most ingenious and innovative idea recently financed by one of the member angel groups of the Angel Capital Association. The award will be presented annually to the CEO of the entrepreneurial company at ACA's annual conference, with travel costs covered by the award organizers, and national and local publicity being an important part of the award.
Nominations for both awards are due to ACA by April 5, 2010.
